Do No Evil, the latest in the monkey quests, also involving the desert. This quest is very rewarding to RuneScape players, as it provides more assets to the game. The quest was released in December of 2010.

Trollheim disease free herb patch travel guide

The trollheim herb patch provides a fifth patch in which to grow herbs. The troll watches this patch for disease, ensuring that any seed planted will mature. Therefore, it is the best patch in which to grow valuable herbs.

Refer to the Trollheim travel guide for an article and attached slideshow on how to travel to trollheim. Due to the recent update, the graphics and layout ave changed, but reaching the cave is straightforwards; it's underground where the old graphics remain that it's important to know the layout.

Lava Titan scam nerfed, Thank Jagex and God!

Just got past 83 summon last weekend. Was reading up on Lava Titan's abilities and they teleport to wild and according to RS wikia, there was currently no warning. Wouldn't you know it I see a scammer asking people for if they have 83 summoning saying he needed a teleport to Tz Haar and would give the potential victim the pouch. Yes, I should have taken the pouch and booked it, but I did the better thing and reported him and Jagex acted pretty fast in sewing up the scam. Read about the details of the scam patch here.

Item lending changes

Apparently, you cannot use an item with the person to return it.

So I am in the slayer tower and some dude is down to like 10 bloodvelds left on his slayer and is out of prayer. No slay ring, nothing. So I'm like I can lend you my SGS and you can spec to restore prayer, thinking he could still use it on me to return it. All that does is cause a "nothing interesting happens" to display.

Looks like a recent change via hidden update to combat an earlier scam where players fighting would borrow an item and use it with the lender before crossing the ditch.

tinderbox scam; beware

Login message says don't trade your tinderbox when using a lightsource. I realize RuneScape is saying its possible for players to trade their tinderbox, have their light go out, die from the bugs that bite, and not be able to reach their grave in time thus losing their items.

Having a lightsource that does not go out is a good solution to this.

This has been eliminated by the tool belt update.

White sword scam

Again, off facebook post here. Some RuneScape player traded his whip for a saradomin sword but forgot to look at A, the RuneScape item, and B, the wealth amount. He received a white 2h sword in exchange for the whip. Always look carefully at the trade window to avoid being scammed.

Caution on internet the difference between safe RuneScape play and disaster

When playing RuneScape, remember not to give personal details about yourself, your location, contact information, etc. Internet is a great way to interact with peple but because you cannot see them, you are at their mercy so to speak that they are telling you the truth. I know it sounds cliche now that everybody talks about men in their '50s posing but my point of view is if internet users use caution this will not be an issue.

Unfortunately, in an isolated case in RuneScape of millions of users, a blatant rule violation has led to sexual assault.

RuneScape wilderness scam

Saw a post on my facebook wall by some dude who got scammed out of a bandos chestplate.

Apparently there is a scam where if you lend an item, the player with the lent item can use it on you to return it. Doing so near the wilderness then fighting you and defeating you inside the wilderness completes the scam.

Jagex said lent items cannot be taken into the wilderness and I haven't tested it to verify whether they mean into level one wild or mean crossing the wildi wall. But regardless, if you are lending an item, take precautions to either hop worlds, have private set to friends, or watch your inventory when near the wildi.

Why hop worlds? To "shake" the lendee. Why have private on friends/off? To keep the lendee from tracking you. Is this paranoid? Probably. In most cases, outside of suspicious behavior (e.g. lendee challenging you to pk, etc) a mere inventory check upon entering lvl 1 wildi should suffice.

wilderness returns to RuneScape

free trade and wilderness has returned to RuneScape. To get more information on this, the RuneScape site has plenty of info. And don't go into the wild unprepared, the good days are over for safe wilderness and the good days have returned for pk'ing in the wilderness.

92 firemaking, the inferno adze, and new wilderness:

The beacon network will become a lot harder with the release of the new wilderness. Therefore, I am training one of two RuneScape skills that I really hate, firemaking. I have become an expert at Barbarian assualt and am using my penance horn to double the firemaking experience I get. I am also using beacon network rewards ring of fire and flame gloves (level 79 firemaking.) I will get 88 firemaking then use a spicy stew to try to boost the beacon network and get the adze which will then occupy a bank space until I do get 92 firemaking.
